Everybody smashes these days, and I, for one, am not complaining. I can’t get enough smash burgers, and there’s a new food truck in Brunswick that has a PhD in SMASH. Knucks Hut is taking the town by storm. Zack Pierson and his wife, Barbara, are not new to the food truck scene in Brunswick. You’ve probably seen them serving up delicious boiled peanuts at First Fridays.
Somewhere around the time that their puppy dog, Knuckle Sandwich came into their lives, Zack and Barbara realized that there was a need for a great smash burger in town, and they had the skills and talent to deliver. And boy do they deliver.
We came to film an episode at The Galley, and ordered The American Smasher (a classic) and The Pepper’oni, with — you guessed it — pepperoni. Very creative! The American is everything you dream of in a smash burger and more. It’s two perfectly seasoned patties, smashed on the griddle with grilled onions and topped with American cheese, lettuce, and tomato, and served on a soft, warm bun. The whole thing just melts in your mouth! The real key here is in the Knucks Sauce, which is served on this burger and on the Knucks Burger. This creamy sauce has a hint of sweetness and just a touch of spice that really makes this burger come alive. I need a bowl of it 😉
The Pepper’oni is very unique. Two patties with Italian seasoning, cradle grilled pepperonis, and mozzarella cheese. It’s all topped off with a delicious marinara, blending the Italian pizza taste flawlessly with Knucks’ amazing smash burgers. If you’re a pepperoni fan, I highly recommend this one.
The fries are crinkle-cut and cooked perfectly. The menu is rounded out by their signature Knucks Smasher, which features Cajun seasoning, the amazing Knucks sauce, pepper jack cheese, and bacon (!). And for the non-beef-eaters, you can order up chicken strips and a pork chop sandwich. There’s something for everyone, including your canine best friend. Knucks is always ready to dole out the treats, so bring your four-legged pal along and make an afternoon of it. Watch our episode below and follow Knucks Hut on Facebook to find out where they’ll be next. As always, tell ’em Brunswick Eats sent ya!
